About the Author

IMG_20131213_113828Amanda LaCasse was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. For the majority of her life, she hated the sprawling city with an unequaled passion. After a summer filled with unplanned adventures and far more coffee than any human should ever drink, she realized just how beautiful Phoenix (and the great state of Arizona) really is.

Amanda is currently a junior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University’s downtown Phoenix campus. After a brief stint studying nursing, she is now studying print and web based journalism with an emphasis in photography and photojournalism. This blog is an assignment for her JMC 305 (Online Media) class.

In her free time, Amanda loves adventuring in Arizona and other surrounding states, watching her friends create art, and writing “About” descriptions in the third person. In the past, she has blogged for both an occupational safety and a defensive driving school, and she now tutors students at the ASU Writing Center. Her favorite places in the world are The Grand Canyon, Portland, Barcelona and Jerome. If she had to pick one place in Arizona to stay for the rest of her life, it would be downtown Phoenix as it is right now.

You’ll be hearing about her style of life and adventuring in Arizona and surrounding states on Postcards to Phoenix.
